Towing

With a curb weight of about 2.3 kilograms, the Jeep Wrangler’s GVM can be rated at about 2.5 kilograms which enables it to tow up to a maximum of 2.5 kilograms. To arrive at the correct towing capacity you have to subtract the curb weight from the GVM. For safety reasons, it is advisable to always make sure you do not come within 10% of the total towing capacity.

Engine

The Wrangler’s standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 268 horsepower with its plug-in hybrid version offering 375 horsepower. A 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower is available. These engines are paired with either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The average fuel consumption of these engines is 9 km/L, 28 km/L, and 10 km/L respectively.

Safety

The last time (2018) Euro NCAP tested the Wrangler it gave it a meager score for safety, especially in adult passenger, child occupants, and pedestrian safety. The score was also influenced by the vehicle’s limited driver assistance technology and impact protection. Available passive and active safety features were four airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and front collision warning.

They both feature similar powerplants with the same power, towing capacity, fuel consumption, and 4×4 drivetrains, but the Rubicon adds heavy-duty axles, electronic locking differential, disconnecting sway bars, rock rails, rear parking sensors, 4:1 Rock-Trac Heavy-Duty Full-Time 4WD System, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and blind spot monitor.

Mercedes-Benz is a brand that is synonymous with luxury, reliability, quality, performance, safety, and state-of-the-art technology. The G wagon being from the Mercedes family commands the same qualities but adds tested offroad capabilities and outstanding driving performance that all together justify its price tag.
