Range Rover Evoque is a lineage of subcompact luxury crossover SUVs produced by the British manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover which is a subsidiary of Tata Motors under their Land Rover marque. The First Evoque was developed from the concept vehicle of the Land Rover LRX, which was announced publicly for the first time at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008. The 1st generation of Evoque was manufactured from 2011 until 2018 in 3- and 5-door versions, with both 2- and 4-wheel drive. The production of the second-generation of Evoque started in 2018 to present.
Range Rover Evoque Variants
Amidst 2013 and 2018, Range Rover Evoque passed in development and came with different variants. The 2014 model year update came with changes which are: new driver assistance, ZF-9HP automatic gearbox, Closing Vehicle Sensing and Reverse Traffic Detection (to warn drivers of oncoming traffic), Lane Departure Warning, and convenience features: Park Exit (to automatically exit parallel parking bays), Traffic Sign Recognition and Wade Sensing, Perpendicular Park (to position the car centrally in parking bays), optional Land Rover InControl connected car system, four new alloy wheel styles, new color options for the interior, a new style of Land Rover badge on the grille, wheel centers, and tailgate.
Early models include a choice of three engines: a 2.2 diesel 190PS engine, a 2.0 Petrol 240PS engine, and a 2.2 diesel 150PS engine. Active Driveline is available in the Si4 petrol engine.
Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic (2013–2018)
Available in 5-door or coupé body styles, Autobiography Dynamic is a model of the Range Rover Evoque with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, 350mm front brake discs, a 285PS/400Nm, revised chassis for sharper handling, Land Rover InControl Apps, the new design of the grille, forged 20-inch alloy wheels in satin technical grey, exterior trim components detailed in Santorini black contrast roof, darkened headlights, ingot badging on the tailgate and front wing vents, lower front valance, clear tail lamps, body-color side trim visually lowers the vehicle, a dynamic plus leather interior with either premium or sports climate seats in a range of 4 colors, Autobiography embossed logo at front seats, Active Driveline, and torque vectoring by braking and dashboard with dark brushed aluminum trim.
Range Rover Evoque Convertible (2017–2018)
The 3-door Evoque Coupé comes with 4 seats, 20-inch wheels, a power-retractable soft-top roof, and a body replacement with a drop-down tailgate.
Range Rover Evoque Pearl Noir Edition (2014–2018)
The Pearl Noir Special Edition is a model of the Evoque for the Hong Kong market that comes with a ZF 9-speed automatic transmission, a Meridian audio system, a 2-liter Si4 (240PS) engine, leather interior upholstery, an 8-inch touch screen, panoramic roof, 20-inch style 9 alloy wheels in matte black, Xenon headlamps with black lampshade, a black rear diffuser, black interior, black exhaust tip, and gold body-color.
In November 2014, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the Chinese automotive joint-venture company Landwind officially unveiled Landwind X7, which has a major resemblance to the Evoque. Jaguar Land Rover complained to authorities to stop its production but unfortunately, JLR received no support from the authorities.
Range Rover Evoque comes with three engine options: a 2-litre 240 PS (177 kW; 237 bhp) turbocharged petrol engine and two 2.2-liter turbo diesels producing either 150 PS (110 kW; 148 bhp), or 190 PS (140 kW; 187 bhp).
During the Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover revealed the Evoque with a 9-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF Friedrichshafen. The first gear of a 9-speed automatic transmission is much lower than the first gear of a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 9-speed automatic transmission’s first gear is specially designed for towing, off-road conditions, and adverse on road conditions. Land Rover did not unveil any further technical details about the new automatic transmission.
Three 2-liter variants are available: an eD4 150 PS turbo diesel two-wheel-drive manual gearbox, a TD4 180 PS permanent 4-wheel drive 9-speed automatic, and a 2-liter Si4 240 PS turbocharged petrol permanent 4-wheel drive 9-speed automatic.
The fuel consumption estimation for the 2.2-liter diesel engine with manual transmission is 6.00 L/100 km urban and 5.00 L/100 km combined, with CO2 emissions of 133 g/km. For the 2.0-liter petrol engine with automatic transmission, the figures are 11.9 L/100 km urban and 8.7 L/100 km combined, with 199 g/km CO2.
Standard equipment includes a push-button start, a 5–inch driver’s information display, and an accent lighting is located throughout the interior. Other options include windscreen wipers and a steering wheel, heated seating, an 8–inch touch screen entertainment system that can display separate images to both the driver and front passenger and a panoramic fixed sunroof.
There are 12 interior color choices, metal trims, various wood, and three optional contrasting roof treatments.
