The Toyota Fortuner is a mid-sized Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), made by Toyota, Japan’s famous automobile manufacturer. It comes with 2 or 3 rows of seats and is available in 4-wheel drive or front-wheel-drive configuration. The name “Fortuner” originates from the English word “fortune”.
From 2004 to present, the Toyota Fortuner has been manufactured for 3 generations. The 1st generation known as the AN50 & AN60 was in production from 2004 –2015 while the 2nd generation known as the AN150/AN160 was in production from 2015 to present.

Toyota Fortuner Grades
Toyota Fortuner GX – This is the most reasonable edition of 7-seat SUV, mated with the 2.8L turbo-diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, reversing camera, rear differential lock, 7 SRS airbags, rear parking sensors, 7″ display audio with Toyota link, Smart Start, Automatic AC, DVD/Radio Player, front and rear manual Air Conditioning, and 17-inch alloy rims.
Toyota Fortuner GXL – This is a middle-grade that is equipped the same as the Fortuner GX with a 2.8L turbo–diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, smart entry and start system, privacy glass, satellite navigation, front and rear manual Air Conditioning, 7 SRS airbags, rear differential lock, and 17-inch alloy rims. It is available in 4-wheel drive.
Toyota Fortuner Crusade – This is a luxury version that is powered the same as GX and GXL, with a 2.8L turbo-diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, leather accented seats, Climate control Air Conditioning, rear differential lock, satellite navigation, smart entry and start system, power back door, 7 SRS airbags, and 18-inch alloy rims.
The Toyota Fortuner has a greater cabin that is comfortable and spacious offering enough leg space on all rows providing a driver and its passengers to sit comfortably. The seating, dashboard design, and comfort levels all exceed some Toyota versions like HiLux. The dashboard is made up of some hard plastics and tough surfaces. A higher version like Fortuner Crusade comes with luxurious leather package seats. The 3rd row seats can be folded up and aligned by the windows.
All 4 doors have bottle holders, although those found in manual transmission models differ from the ones in automatic Fortuner models. The center console container doesn’t have padding so your elbow might not be comfortable, especially off-road. The 3rd row seats can be folded to increase the storage space. There’s storage for a smartphone in front of the shifter, with a small center console bin and small door pockets.

The Toyota Fortuner has a nice-looking exterior with indicator signs on both side mirrors, looking like a superior model of the Toyota Wish new model. Some variants come with fog lights in front, halogen light, all-terrain tires, and 18-inch alloy rims.
